Just a Cat

It has been long 4 months since I last posted anything....
I terribly sorry for that, but know that without my day job I woulfn't have a chance to get exposed to all the neat stuff in film photography.
Oh. and further more I volunteer in Tel Aviv's projects, which gives me a little time for myself.
Well, That what happened in the last 4 months.

Enough talking. I want to introduce the cat. my first gallery quality darkroom print:

Taken with my Holga 120 GCFN, self develloped Ilford pan 400, and self printed.

Additionally, I decided to buy myself a new computer, and attach to it the CanoScan8800F

I also want to get an enlarger and a real darkroom equipment... but... I think I'll put that on hold for now, money, you know :)

True Love

True Love was meant to last.
True Love was meant to stay.

Love stayed, the people didn't.

The Wall

Everybody has a wall, either a mental one, either a physical one.
The wall keeps us sometimes behind. but we must not fear from it, we must see the sky and endless places that lie beyond that wall.

That's what led me to this picture:

Editing was quite simple:
1. Play with the blue channel.
2. Some vignetting.
3. A bit of unsharp on lightning channel.

The Number 23

Have you seen this movie with Jim Carry?

This movie talks about the magical meanings of the number 23 (well, you have guessed from the headline).
What is so special about this number?

I did some searching in the net, except for this movie sites, I have found some interesting results from Wikipedia:

"23 is considered either lucky, unlucky, sacred to the goddess Eris, sinister, sacred to the unholy gods of the Cthulhu Mythos, or strange. Discordians regard this as a corollary of the Law of Fives."

As well as the disturbing quote:
"When you start looking for something you tend to find it"
Well, I have found it, in some reconstruction of an ancient synagogue in the Golan Heights:

This picture was taken in color, desaturated, added some contrast, and then added some vignetting, to complete this atmosphere.

B.T.W, The movie worth seeing :)

First Post, First Photo

Hi,

Welcome to my blog. As you can see, I'm not open for a long by now, but I have been shooting (photographing) for some time now.

In this post I'll share you with this photo:

This one was taken during a nice and stormy day. That's how I like the days to be, but the sad truth is that there are not that many stormy days lately.
Anyway, I like this photo cause it emphasized loneliness and sadness. (I can't blame the style, that's how I felt the day I was there)
Notice the chair, and the sand.

While taking this photo I had a little accident, I forgot the lens on MF (Manual Focus), but the lack of focusing just turned it to be a piece I like.
This photo was taken with Sigma 10-20 lens.
This lens, if you know it gives much atmosphere and emotions to photos.

Usually I take the photos in color, and add some photoshop to them.
In this one I used some steps:
1. Convert to B/W with saturation.
2. Add some contrast, so there will be some more difference between the whites and blacks.
3. Add the vignetting, which gives the final touch.

Down here you can compare the original, without Photoshop, and the final product:

As you can see, it's much better, and serves the emotions I wanted to pass, through it.
